Security Questions

How safe is it to use IMAPClient.com to read my mail?

Depending on how you read your mail now, it may not be any less safe then before.  That means, the same methods a hacker would use to intercept mail sessions between the mail program on your computer and your mail server could also be used to intercept mail moving through IMAPClient.com.

What information about me does IMAPClient.com keep?

In order to access your mail server and perform the tasks you request, the web interface must keep a copy of your username, servername, and password.  Once your session expires (after about 15 - 30 minutes, or when you click on "logout"), this information will be physically erased.  We may choose to keep usernames and servername information for logging purposes.

Your email address will not be disclosed to third parties (except where required by law), unless you have provided prior authorization.  Your email address will also not be used by IMAPClient.com except where you have provided prior authorization, or where exterme circumstances require you be contacted.

Summary

Please note: the only safe connection is one that has no physical path between it and the rest of the world.  If you use IMAPClient.com, you do so at your own risk, and with the knowledge that is possible for somebody to intercept a copy of your mail.
